You've given me new hope. I MIGHT try making bread again one of these days...when I am brave.

Upon my first try at making my own bread, my grandmother told me to let the water get just warm to the touch and it will be the perfect temperature for yeast.

Works every time!

You get the water warm enough to get it going yet you can still pour it comfortably over the back of your hand without it feeling too hot.

Have you tried high temperature bread baking? I use between a 450 and 550F oven with preheated ceramic bread pans, bowls or what have you in it and dump the dough into the pans.... be careful, it's hot! It only takes 15 or 20 minutes to finish. Also, I use a pan of water in the bottom to keep the bread moist while baking.
