Ted, I know of a Korean family, very well-off, close to me and my wife, whose father bought a gun in the wake of the 1992 LA Riots.

Unfortunately the only time he actually used that gun, to my knowledge, was to threaten his wife during an argument. Yes, he even fired it inside the house a few times.

To those who say that he could have easily used a knife, I say the following:

1) The barrier to violence is lowered with the gun. Once it's loaded, it's stupid easy to pull the trigger.

2) The stray bullets could have killed the kids.
