I have fake alarm company signs, but no alarms. Never been burglarized here. I also have motion activated security lights. Besides the security, they're pretty useful when I go out at night!

All that, and a warning on the doors. "Danger, health hazards for intruders. Fatal consequences if you enter". Have an aerosol which is sprayed into the vicinity of an intruder, which is activated by motion sensor or remote control when you view the intruder via your web cam. It should have a faint odour and after a minute when they start to feel woozy because it's a toxic spray, announce through a speaker and recorded message, and have a sign unroll by the exit, "You have inhaled a fatal dose of a poisonous spray. You will probably die within 2 hours if you do not seek medical attention. Tell the doctor you have inhaled [some toxic spray which requires an antidote]. Take a leaflet from by the door as you leave which will give them instructions on which police to call and the medical treatment required."

When robbers are wearing gas masks during intrusion, switch to injected toxins which are fired via tiny darts which require similar medical treatment for survival [perhaps an antibiotic, or antidote].

The Russians had a useful gas they sprayed into a movie theatre. Maybe there's some export business already in Russia supplying such a service to house-holders.
