SI was the first community on the web,

Not sure about that

THE WELL started in 1985

..and my first contact with virtual communities was with Howard Rheingold's "Brainstorms", several years before SI

But you definitely created the first and best go to site in the investment arena, and it remains so IMO

In many ways this site has had some pretty profound impacts on my life, not the least of which is providing continuing access and guidance from thinkers in arenas from financial to political

Thanks for the opportunities afforded

(and the T-shirts)

Gotta say thanks as well, Brad. When I read your yellow banner, I must confess my reaction was, OH DAMN! NOT AGAIN. THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

Before you brought it back to life we had to pay to use spell check. Suspect similar is coming down the road with the new gig master.
.
Who needs mobile except the NSA/UTAH watchers. Damned thummers anyhow!!!!! SI Tweets? Now THERE'S CONTENT! NOT!

This whole place will be in BFF/LOL/IDK/WCD/ thummer dialect and we'll be charged to look at the SI lexicon to interpret.

This sucks bad. If you were losing money and didn't ask us to voluteer for subscriptions, then that's on you. This place had a feel before you sold it, lost its feel during the interim when MonetizerRUS had it and drove it into the ground, got its feel BACK when you took it over and added useful function. And now we're going to lose it again! How many times do you think electric shock paddles can revive SI? It's down for the count now, guarandamnteeya!

I am NOT hopeful and this SUCKS!

And I don't even like the looks of the new honco.

And I HATE the new logo with BHO slouching in the middle in powder blue. What's up with that? Everyone in that frigging logo is under 30. Is that the demographic newbie is going for, the broke and in debt up to their eyeballs looking for a govt bailout under BHO this new guy is after?
THEY'RE the ones stuck with the gawdawful student loan debts! Who wants to discuss investment advice/chatter with THEM thummin' and tweetin' and in general shovin' their assinity in our faces? To quote a line from Fried Green Tomatoes...[WE'RE] the ones with "more insurance" as we watch some pimply faced, debt-laden, parent moochin' gen-X and gen-Y tell us how the world works now....

Good luck to you pursuing your bliss. Sucks being your banana peel launchpad in hindsight, tho'.

Thanks Brad, everything you've done is appreciated.

I have only one request for new management. If you want to charge a modest amount, that's fine, but please don't make us join Facebook.

Brad,

Now the initial excitement and related “on topic and constructive” posts have subsided, I would like to thank you and your team for keeping SI alive and as CLEAN as any such website can be.

All the best and thank you for a lot of good years.

PS: I don’t envy the new owner.
