Been here since '95 and I believe I once paid the last owner $30 or so, one time

Totally spoiled with "free" and doubt that I would be willing at this point to start paying for the privilege of what I have been doing for free for 17 years or so....

Good lord. $10 a month would be a huge fee and would be, essentially, suicidal.

Who really knows, Win. I was largely speaking out of my own experience. I would be willing to do such, given the value I get from this place. Who knows what the fairly diverse crew on board at the moment would do. But, to repeat, $10 a month doesn't sound like much to me.
