JDN, I'm new to this thread and hope to "jump in" in the AM. You mentioned the "5 Year Plan" -- where can I get more info on that? I was attracted to ERICY by the Nov 97, Red Herring article titled "Communications Smorgasbord". Regards, MM

There seems to be some confusion over the reduction of 10,000 people. Ericsson is laying off an additional 10,000 people over and above the first 10,000. This is outlined in yesterday's press release at ericsson.com Ericsson is not seeing the a fast growth in the Infocom area so they are further cutting back on costs. Personally, this is probably a good thing for them as they remain focussed on the bottom line. I would expect many of the effected people to find jobs either within other areas of Ericsson or with related businesses.
