Not really. I can see why you want to disguise where you are shooting from and make it difficult to know someone is shooting until people start being hit, but rational people are a bit reticent about enabling mass murders... A suppressor doesn't make a gun silent, but it does make the shooter invisible. Combjelly wrote the above ambiguous statement but the part about invisible made it clear to me what suppressor means in his setence. A silencer (the proper legal term for the device in the National Firearms Act) does not cloak light and render a shooter invisible. They also use the term muffler. Notice in the dictionary definition that it has to do with the eye and sight. The eyes cannot hear.
