Your suggestion below is really all that is required. The solutions are simple and known, but our leaders are derelict and have no backbone to do what needs to be done. That's why I think we'll continue to kick the can down the road and print money, instead of addressing the root causes. Why do you think they bailed out the big banks, instead of breaking them up and solving the root causes? Because they don't have the backbone. They know what needs to be done. BTW, things are not as rosy in housing as folks make them out to be. I think housing is recovering, but very slowly. It will take a decade to wring out the excesses of the last decade. Notice the recent trends? BTW, Oct and Nov were both down months. Anyway, the days of constantly rising house prices are over. standardandpoors.com
