<< Does Cisco, 3Com, or Bay make switching products any better than Cabletron? Hell no! Does Cisco have better support than Cabletron? I don't think so! The difference is perception. >>

Steven, here are some numbers, which are facts and not perception.

CS: 02/28/97 05/31/97 08/31/97 11/30/97
Revenue 380 362 371 exp. 335
Increm/Decrem - 18 = - 4% +9 = + 2.8% -26 = - 7%

CISCO:
Revenue : 1,642 1,765 1,869 exp. 2,0000
Increm/Decrem + 123 = + 8% +104 = + 7% +130 = + 7%

Cisco maintained revenue grouth thruout the year 7 to 8% each Q for the total of 30% this year. In the case of CS revenue droped from the 02/28/97 (380) number by more then 10%. The revenue picture was erratic and disturbing thru the whole year. Do you know if it was due to the product line transition or the cos just lost the competitive edge?

Hi Steven: That certainly was a good attempt to explain the intricacies of the market re: Enterprise Hub/Switches. I would agree that they have had excellent reviews. But translation from review to Sales has been my puzzle which you have now clarified. I observed that there are only 3500 reg shareholders and Insiders hold 25% of the stock. Do you think this is outdated and requires an update by the I.R.
The 10Q report for Q2 gave no hint of any serious margin squeeze or declining sales. Any indication of trouble would have been a help to the small investor. Any how ,now that we are in, I am often asked if CS is a BYE or a BUY for the long haul. Its both,if you intend to put it away for 6-9 mths. Thx once again.
