Well, I do advocate for Clinton era spending but I don't know how we're gonna get there.

People are living longer and they expect to be kept alive at all costs, so it's tough to keep medical expenses down.

The defense department seems to get anything they want so it's tough to keep defense costs down.

More and more people are going on medicaid, disability and every other new form of welfare so it's tough to cut down on that too.

I was just reading a list of the top 15 or 20 occupations to go into and they ALL paid around $50K a year to start. Most of them required quite a bit of education or expertise to get into. That's about the median income in the country. 40 years ago a guy could just have a good work ethic and go to a factory and make the median income. The only place those people can go to now is walmart or fastfood where they make maybe 40% of the median income even if they work their asses off.

I really think the U.S. needs to concentrate on Technical Schools where people can learn a Trade.
