Goldsnow's classic joke included "...relaxen und watch das blinkenlights."

I haven't seen a machine with blinkenlights for years... and I sure miss them. Today we were debugging code which just makes the machine in question hang... nada nil nothing comes out, until the watchdog timer reboots it. We'll find the problem in a bit [sic!], but it sure would be easier if there were some lights to push status into, like we used to do in the old days.

Technology marches on, and all that.
