A partition is an area on a disk. A volume is a partition that has been assigned a letter.

Don't all partitions have letters assigned?

My list looks like this and I'm running from Hitachi_XP



I'm going to rethink my backup strategy, especially as it relates to cloning the system partition.
Related question to you and all:

If you HAD to get a new PC today, would it be Windows 7 or would it be Windows 8?
I lean towards Win 8 because it will stimulate the grey matter - at first. First I have to research how many programs I'd have to replace.
