Remember the debate where the most influential person in Bush's life was... (drum roll) Jesus Christ? That's probably what I uttered as I rolled my eyes . That response, however, resonated with a lot of people in the US. It may have won the election for him. Brilliant in a cynical and pandering way. Scary if true because he certainly was the kind to feed the poor and overturn the tables of the money changers... Not. I don't quote bible verse very often but I am reminded of Mathew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? He left a lot of thorns and thistles behind. And not the cactus apple sort of thorns and artichoke kind of thistle which are pretty tasty for a thorn and thistle, respectively.
