Derek this is way out of my expertise, but I was told, and even my PC shipped with two boot up configurations (one for Windows & one for Games, anyway I was told this allows you to have your memory set up (extended verses expanded and so on), hardware, I/O ports etc. configured to optimal conditions for what you are doing. So if you're not using the scanner and want the steering wheel for your NASCAR II racing...just change disks and shut off the scanner and turn on the steering...then reboot with another disk. This is important if you are short IRQs.

I think this can now be done, OR soon will be with an Iomega Zip drive. I heard where you will be able to use a Zip drive as a boot drive.

I could be just blowing smoke and showing how dated I am.
