Registering guns will make people accountable for their weapons -- the ones that are now flooding into the hands of criminals via private gun sales without background checks. It won't stop all killing -- that goes without saying. And it will royally piss off the NRA because it will at least put a dent in the soaring gun violence that fuels their cash flow. But for America, it will at least be one small step in the right direction for a change.
