Sam, it is absolutely OK for us to see things somewhat differently. I've been "doing" waves for about 15 years, and I've seen valid counts "misfire" many, many times - not only for me, but for everyone that I've read. Therefore, i had to either abandon waves, or adopt the view that they like to be "fuzzy". Or, as Prechter calls them, "robust" - meaning that they exist despite being very different every time.

Everything I know about the unconscious tells me that it is, indeed, dreamlike and "fuzzy" in its nature and in its logic. Therefore, it makes sense that the patterns of Elliott Waves would feel - and act - the same.

Philosophy aside, i agree with the logic in your post. It is only that - in the interests of my trading account - I must maintain my hard earned discipline - and remember that things not always are what they look like... :)

Fwiw, I do think that the decline of the last few days was impulsive. I expect a follow through. But then again, often enough such follow throughs are not deep, they may prove to be not much more than a retest, often with shallow new lows. That would be a bullish sign. We'll see how it plays.
