RE: SparQ Selling Well?

I suppose you could say that, but it would depend on your definition of "well". SyQuest just told you what they expect their SparQ revenue to be for the quarter:

50,000 drives @ $200 retail = $10 million
90,000 disks @ $33 retail = $3 million

Total SparQ @ retail = $13 million

Revenue to SyQuest, assuming cost to resellers is 80% of retail (which is probably high) = $10 million

When you consider that their other products are either mature (with declining revenues), have had recent price cuts, or are being displaced by SparQ, you'll be lucky to see sales flat quarter-to-quarter.

Let's not even think about what their net loss will be...

Now you can say SparQ is selling well:

You know this is the third time they've put out this release saying how good the demand for SparQ is. The only difference this time is they gave unit volume numbers which really aren't that great. (What were you expecting the SparQ revenues for the quarter to be?) It looks like they're just trying to raise the stock price for their 40 million share offering.
