Do you have an idea about the production costs of sparq?

What I am asking myself all the time: What is Syquests strategy to increase their profit margins? Let's assume sparq will be a smash hit.
But they don't earn money with it. Will they increase the price later, or will they replace the sparq with a newer, higher priced device?

Any comments?

Ralph

RE: Another Explanation for the 50K drives and 90K disks...

Another explanation just hit me...

Maybe that's all that SyQuest could AFFORD to build this quarter. It takes money to ramp up a new product and build up inventories. And money is one thing that is in short supply at SyQuest.

SyQuest bulls can discount this theory all they want, but I think there's a strong possibility that it's the true reason for the low production. (What surprises me even more is that SyQuest wasn't expecting to sell that many!)
