>> Strange...i have the same thoughts. You guys never seem to mind spending a few trills in a war, even if a complete concoction, but don't anyone dare spend any money at home to help people....scandalous robbing of future generations, etc..etc...

The reality is that protecting the country -- whatever that is determined to be at a point in time -- is a legitimate function of government while buying food and health care for 1/6 of its residents is not.

I don't like spending money on wars, but I'd much prefer spending money on national defense over creating a generation of bums, which is what we're now doing. Money spent on national defense, while expensive, saves lives. Money spent on creating bums is destructive for society as well as for the country.

I believe you think the liberal approach is better, but it is just a lack of understanding of the way the world works on the parts of liberals. Liberalism does not work. Keynesian economics has never worked, anywhere or any time on Earth. And economically speaking, we know why. Government cannot create as much productivity as is sucked out of the economy when it spends taxpayer or borrowed money. That is just a plain economic fact.
