BRAVO !!! I was a tad too polite to tell Hawkmoon he is a bullshitter. You have called a spade a spade ! I recall, years ago, he wrote about Islamo-Fascists desiring to establish a Caliphate in the Middle East. LOL! And when some posters pointed out the brutality of past colonialists, he blithely said it was to be expected, as if he is an expert on colonial history. Some posters told me Hawkmoon tries to impress others with his bombast and cocksure-sounding statements. But I saw through his sophistry years ago. However, he has impressed that simpleton jlallen. LOL !

you know very well that Bremer did not make the decision to invade Iraq, Bremer made the recommendations to DC on how to handle the occupation... I'm sure he likely conferred with Cheney and Bush, but the military analysts on the ground were recommending something totally different. The decision to invade was made by the US Congress with the authorization to use force.. Bush just exercised that authority when Saddam failed to comply with the UN binding resolutions.. As for marketplaces (Suq), you don't find many of them sitting in the middle of nowhere.. They are usually in the center of a populated neighborhood.. Maybe you need to get over there and check it out for yourself.. I guess you live in the wilderness where you have no neighbors that lost their jobs or homes. You have no contact with the world to know that 20% of American children live below the poverty line. There ya go again.. shooting off your mouth about things you have no understanding of.. The area I grew up in has been hit extremely hard and the only thing that has saved us is being an agricultural community.. The average wage there isn't much more than $10-20/hour if you're not competing against Illegal Aliens for a job.. I have several VERY close relatives who are effectively destitute.. long-term unemployed.. etc.. We've been doing our best to help them out in every way we can.. So don't presume that you know me, or my family.. Sheesh, like the "say" we gave the Iraqis and the Afghanis? Actually, a hell of a lot of say.. How many US troops are in Iraq right now? How many imperialists invade a country and then withdraw of their own volition? And they held the FIRST elections of any credibility ever seen in Iraq. Do you see Sunnis in charge there? Or majority Shi'a? As for the Afghans, now they have Karzai trying to claim that the US and the Taliban are colluding against his government.. hmmmm.. Because nothing of what that sentence contains seems to pertain to criminal behavior.. Innocent people get mugged, and/or killed, just minding their own business all the time.. And 7 innocent foreign construction workers, building a road in Nigeria, shouldn't be dead at the hands of Islamic Militants if what he said were true..
