The risk is real, and the population here knows it

Yes, Quebec and Ontario now understand that close to $20 billion in transfer payments are drying up, threatening the public sector, education, health care etc. No pipeline to west coast = major Federal and eastern provincial gov't downsizing and reduction in healthcare, education etc. BC' s voice will be drowned out by eastern interests. That is the way it has always been and will remain so. Good luck with your protests. I can hear the tracks on the pipe layers sqeeking already:-)

I live in Toronto... every time I get on the 401 I am risking my life.. otherwise cloister yourself..

no pipe will kill the country .. if you are OK with that.. fine,. but be honest about that also.. f the rest of Canada.. just say it... Maybe BC should separate and we negotiate as sovereign nations.. everyone knows enough money will buy it.. A pipe east is OK by me.. I would PREFER refining in AB.. let us keep all the profit in the country... or flow it east and refine it here to balance jobs... even better (we are a country you know) I do not care which province gets the profit... funny you are a BCer now and not a Johnny Canuck all of a sudden... we really are like TE Lawrence's Arabs eh ...

TE Lawrrence... So long as the Arabs fight tribe against tribe, so long will they be a little people, a silly people - greedy, barbarous, and cruel, as you are.

I have not watched any Enbridge videos.. please don't demean me.. I don't buy spin.. Like I said.. Maybe BC should be its own country., I'm OK with that also..

BTW... we'll take your Asians LOL... Then you could buy five houses... and you would not need put up with Asian ghettos :O) (Your words right.. but I guess that must be a prevailing BC sentiment also)

Kastel - too bad Sir John Eh is not still around, but i think it quite likely that if he were, he'd be retired out here to Lotusland, taking advantage of whatever degree to which he'd been able to preserve the place from descending into a US state or an asian slum, and quite likely piddling about in boats on a coast he'd prefer to keep free of toxic goop, thank you very much ... btw, it was me who reccoed your post by mistake, meant to hit mark as last read

Very open minded of you LOL a true Canadian you are... Again I say True colours... don't worry.. lots will overlook that .. It's Canada you know..

B.C. Energy Minister Rich Coleman is also circumspect on Kinder Morgan's plans, but did note the Trans Mountain pipeline has a lengthy track record.

"This one's been in operation for a long time, and it does show that pipelines can operate safely for generations," he said.

"When I talk to people in my own riding, they have no idea that we have been bringing tankers into the Port of Vancouver for about 50 years."
