the problem with flip sentences is that what they mean to the writer isn't necessarily what the reader reads.

"If the only thing a person has is a 401k that should be telling you something."

I guess what I was saying is that someone who only has a 401k plan and no other savings should not be taking the risks that a open architecture 401k might allow.

"All this time I only contributed enough to get the company match."

For you then the 401k was not your only investment. Congrats on your success!

Obviously not everyone has a 401k and some choose not to fund it so they can invest outside the constraints. Rather than try to defend my statement, I will withdraw it. Sorry if I offended anyone.
