I hope you are right, Chinu. But to ignore the probable consequences of our actions is a bit like putting your head in the sand, don't you think? As I'm sure you know, an engineer's job is to figure out how to make something that can withstand the rigors of use, in the future. I'm 100% sure that engineers probably do not tell their co-workers and bosses, " I don't deal in could have/would have type scenarios," when they are asked whether their calculations will result in a workable product/service. Understanding cause and effect and making predictions about what works and won't work is what you and I do for a living...you with your engineering background and mine with my statistics, operations, finance, and account background. Might as well embrace it and use our training to avoid big losses and make a buck while we're at it. Can't do that unless you let the data lead you to conclusions about the future.
