To suggest that because the "Patriot missile system dates back to the 1960s" it somehow can't incorporate software technology developed at a later time is just stupid. I expect from Chris, and you're dense but you're not that stupid.

Nobody but the wingnuts ever said that Al invented the Internet.
We've been over this before. Al Gore claimed to have created the Internet. Doesn't matter whether he said "created" or "invented."

Anyway, it's hypocritical to credit Al Gore for helping to fund the foundations of the Internet, but not credit Ronald Reagan for helping to fund the foundations of today's missile defense systems.
