OK, Scruff, one more time for me, then you can have the last word, and we can go back to discussing fundamentals. "Have you ever seen a Fonix demo for yourself?" No. To my knowledge, only one was made available to the public, in Salt Lake City this Spring. It was evaluated on this thread by those who could get there, in somewhat more depth than you have given us. The comments of those who saw it have helped me to choose my current sidelines position. I would be THRILLED if they would come to Chicago or Indianapolis with a demo. The fact that they haven't is their fault, not mine. I can see Kurzweil/LHSPF, Dragon or IBM's system in any software store, but I can't see fonix's ANYWHERE. "...it works!!!(etc.)" I was never one to claim this was a scam. In fact, if you had done some due diligence by reading all of this thread (as I have), you would see that I was one of those arguing most strongly with Mr. Pink and others that I did not believe it was a scam, that I believed fonix had SOMETHING. You would also see that I had done plenty of DD in trying to understand the financial status and maneuverings of this company, which is every bit as important, if not more so, than seeing their technology. Your opinion of fonix, to the best of my recollection (without going back through all those posts again) has never addressed the concerns about the financial status of the company expressed by their auditors, John Harris, and myself, among others. "Before you start spouting words you don't understand you might want to check company financial reports." See above. "Also check the Fonix and Siemens release of multi-million dollar contract up front." I think you should check it again, really. No money changes hands until the first working contract is signed, and that hasn't happened yet, or at least has not been announced - and I gotta believe fonix will let us know when that happens. I could go on about some of your other inaccuracies, but the real issue is this - we disagree on the value of fonix and the value of the Siemens agreement - so be it (as Frank would say - I much prefer arguing with him!). Why do you see the need to attack those who think differently than you? If you're right, time will tell, and you'll profit from it. As you point out, my opinion means nothing in the real world, so expressing it here isn't what's keeping the price down, and therefore doesn't hurt you. But I will point out that the supposedly delighted opinion of "the 25th largest company in the world" hasn't done anything for fonix's price either. This isn't about whose opinion is most respectable, it's about how much risk people want to assume for what increasingly looks like something less than the only road to get to the Holy Grail. Fonix clearly does NOT have the Holy Grail for voice recognition, as they claimed, or they would have had much better deals much sooner. And if other people can get to the same end point for voice recognition than fonix and its partners, and get there sooner, then their "superior technology" will end up in the same museum as Apple, O/S2, Cyrix, Novell, Beta tapes, and many other truly superior technologies are headed for. Maybe we just do DD differently. You seem to talk primarily to fonix and its partners - the people who are least likely to tell you about a company's warts. I look primarily at the competition; I always understand a company better that way, and sometimes find a better idea there, too. Bob
