The two sort of go hand in hand. To take a good shot, you have to know what one is. Otherwise you're sending most of your clicks into the bit bucket.

the difference maybe that you understand the significance of what was happening at the time, where we the looker, get to use our imagination.

It wasn't good for you as maybe nothing was going on, but I to enjoyed looking at it wondering what the subject was thinking/seeing without the benefit of being there.

Nah! As they say, Art is in the eyes of the beholder.

Luck helps also. My best two pictures were literally snapshots. A grab the moment thing. It wasn’t until I got them into the darkroom (film days) that I realized what I had. I could not have set them up and gotten nearly the same results.

Like I said… Great picture. Live with it.
