While cost/MB is not the only factor in purchasing a Storage Solution it certainly is a way to gauge performance...In an effort not to misrepresent any information I come across on a daily basis I can't give a current quote on Cost/MB however as I recall it was substantially less than EMC's...EMC will be the first to say that Cost/MB is not the determining factor and in fact it is the Microcode, etc. that makes their solution superior...As I recall from ComputerWorld Cost/MB was less than 50 cents in Sun's product and like I said more than twice that in EMC...Whatever the amount in Sun's recent meeting with Analysts several came away saying the Storage products were selling well in fact this is from the Sun website.."We've installed 2 petabytes of enterprise RAID (that's 2,000 terabytes, the equivalent of 40 million four-drawer filing cabinets) worldwide. And we're adding about 4.5 terabytes every business day. "<i/>
