You are just looking at the trees. Look at the forest. When you look at merely the figures from the comfort of your armchair, particularly those put out by bloggers with a political agenda, you are likely to get a skewed opinion. But if you get your ass in gear like me, and look around you and think for yourself, it will be easy to see what is going on.

For example you keep harping on the "number of people who have stopped looking for work" and raise a big hue and cry to bash the President. You ignore the fact that the President has very repeatedly called for us to spend more money on education so that we can prepare our country to battle the overseas competition for high tech jobs. If you think he is talking crap, then you probably are not aware of what happened to the H1B visas quota for this year?

There are 4 million jobs waiting to be filled. why are US workers dropping out from looking for work, when foreign workers filled 50,000 jobs within 4 hours? These 50,000 workers will soon be paying into our tax system. But since they are not green card holders, they will not be paying into our Social Security system.
I hope you get my drift. While this Administration and the Congress works on the political issue of a guest worker program to work in the unskilled area of picking fruits and vegetables, I hope they also look at the potential of tax revenues and increase the HIB visa quota for only this year from 50,000 to 1/2 a million. If they do so, then the issue of taxing the rich becomes a mute point.

The Republicans unfortunately want to have the cake and eat it too. And we have folks like Santorum running around de glorifying college education.!!!!!
