steve--

[ASND gap up]

hope springs eternal. it would be one of the few positions to make any real movement in the last couple of weeks.

seamans? sounds like chemo. i dont think it will have a dramatic effect. it might also explain why he sounded so down on the CC. maybe the company has planned a positive release to reinforce the stock price. then again, maybe not.

good luck to all,
trey

SteveG: The ASND/LU rumor has surfaced again. If Lucent didn't purchase Livingston, I would go along with the rumor. Why would Lucent spend $650 million on Livingston and then spend another ~$6 billion on another RAS vendor. Granted ASND does have additional products, but Lucent didn't need to purchase Livingston if ASND/LU comes true. When a stock goes from $80 to ~$20, it's funny how many rumors are created. ASND is $20 for a number of good reasons:

1) The USRX/COMS merger... the #1 and #3 vendors in remote access merged.

2) The 56K silicon being late from ROK.

3) The knowledge that all the large equipment vendors, Lucent , Nortel, Alcatel are all getting into this business.

4) Cisco coming to the plate with it's RAS products recently.

This is just my gut feeling on this issue... until later.
