Pravin,

This report simply indicates that Intel is in panic and is patching the damages from the losing market share and rapidly decreasing margin on Pentiums!!

AMD is taking Intel best accounts like mad dog at whatever the prices that these OEM offered to them. At the retail ends, even everage Joe knows K6-233 is just as good as Pentium II 233 for their works or games.

The worse case for Intel came from Cyrix's 128-bit MXi. Once MXi is released, either Pentium II or K6+3D will be treated as old chips like today's 486DX. Comparing to MXi, Intel is right that Pentium II should not worth more than $100 for the end users. AMD486DX3-133 has been sold at $35~40 for almost a year. A $100 for the bugged Pentium is a right price.

NSM would have to demostrate that they could produce enough processors (might have to as high as 100 million pcs) to get all the design wins that we deserve. The question for us is when NSM would show us their will to explore the 800 millions information device market?

What would INTC be if Intel processor ASP dropped below $150?
