Henry, If one buys FBIOX today (in a non IRA account) they will incur a taxable gain for which they did not participate. After next Friday one can purchase the Fidelity Select Biotech fund and not incur the tax. I would assume that this will have an effect on Ligand stock. In the last two years there is a noticeable increase in the value of Ligand In the middle of December.
