There is no problem with the ORCL/NSCP deal other than lost opportunity and lost revenues. For the sake of argument, Let's say the licensing fees for JS are $200,000 per year, that's real money for a company of Borland's size. Besides that, it adds real value to the retail product. The problem is that Borland hasn't ceased upon this direct and indirect revenue opportunity. DOS and Windows would have benefited greatly with the addition of a late 70's technology like a proper shell script, let's not see that happen to native Java environments.
