All of that is true. However, they were perilously close to becoming a laughing stock of the nation by completely stopping a city of a million people and the economy of business for more than 12 hours. About a half hour before the discovery of his whereabouts, the state and city leaders had just about given up and were returning the city back to normal. Had they gone without finding him, criticism would have become intense and FoxNews, what with the Boston liberals, would have had a field day. Fortunately, for all it worked ... and we were lucky enough not to have to listen to FoxNews distortion over what overall has been a tragedy.
