Are you taking that coursera.net class? I think it's pretty good. I'm also taking "Understanding the Special Theory of Relativity" (Stanford), also pretty good though the prof is a bit full of himself.

<<But I've come to the point where I don't care what made him tick.......what prejudices he encountered in this country; what insults were leveled at him; what disappointments he had; who influenced him...........he had no right doing what he did.>>

RW we all live right on the edge of either insanity or mindlessness or brutality. Psychosis and magical thinking is very common. It is the human condition. The kindest person in the world can become a monster overnight through psychosis. And kids can make really dumb decisions just becasue they can't think. And we love violence. Look at how we like ultimate fighting and football.

Are you saying that if he encountered discrimination, he had the right to blow up those people?

Giving women the right to vote increased the divorce rate, according to the statistics.

I does not surprise me at all you are trying to justify these kids actions and lessen their impact by comparing them to world events on a completely different scale and metric.

Damn you make me laugh.

We let segregation fester until the 1960's? How is that possible. Women couldn't vote until 1919. How is that possible? it is all interrelated to our being less intelligent and more crazy than we understand. ALL of us!

Was our going into Viet nam or Iraq and killing hundreds of thousands of people so much different from what these kids did? Or our drone strikes now? We know we are killing innocent people doing that.
