4/26/13 Contest Update Biotechs managed to hold up well for the week, despite an anonymous tweet claiming that smoking dried banana peels had cured both her/his cancer and toenail fungus. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 25.29% YTD (vs. up 21.39% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 26.25% (vs. up 25.86% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.60% YTD (vs. up 6.18% YTD a week ago). RKRW’s portfolio, up 67.00% YTD, remained Contest leader, with BLADE’s portfolio, up 62.16% YTD, and FILO’s portfolio, up 53.57% YTD, holding on to second and third place. At Friday's close, 37 of the 39 Contest portfolios were still in the black with 17 of the 39 beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list.
