Warnning to all who own Compaq Pressario computers!

DO NOT INSTALL Microsoft IE 4.0 from Microsoft. There are known software conflicts which causes problems with the Compaq shell program that causes problems. In my case it wiped out my desktop and took 2 hours of time, including calls to Microsoft IE Technical support to straighten out the problem.

Compaq has acknowledged the problem and is advising owner s of Pressarios to uninstall the Microsoft vesion and down load a fixed version from Compaq

The Tech specialist at Microsoft said that they have been flooded with calls about this very issue.

Compaq is clearly at fault for not informing Pressario owners before this. However their tech support reps refused to help straighten out the mess & referred me back to Microsoft. SO much for "Customer Care"! _ Compaq does not care!

This is a classic example of the Ernst & Young ad "We're Number One" becoming "We're Numb"!
