What's been proven is what we already knew: if government spends enough money, it can keep the economy stagnant indefinitely, just as FDR did in the 30s. Further, until the debt he created has been repaid, the long-term effects of the wasteful spending and growth in government cannot be fully appreciated. Anyone looking objectively at it can see we would have been far better off to have used that trillion wisely.
