Life expectancy drops for country's least-educated whites>>>>

I think if you look closely at this it is another argument warning about demographics. Old people aren't dying - young poor people are!! So think that through; fewer in the higher wage earning years are making it into retirement (if you're poor) ..........but once you are there, you live longer. A quirk - but very real.

So we pump more money into the economy and what does that do to oil prices? Yikes, you're arguing both sides of the oil issue. Our roads are busting at the seems in Washington State now with idle cars sitting in massive parking lots and you want to push the economy more? The stock market continues skyward and yet to listen to Krugman the world is about ready to end!

<<<<<The arguments against Keynes are philosophical, ideological, and wrong.>>>>

Hmmmmm? Read Keynes - we arn't doing anything like he suggested. Its a new happy world - where we can live for today and let our kids worry about paying it back. It is dishonest and all of us are increasing supporting it - not because it works but because we get something for nothing. We got a war for nothing - AND YET, many say it was really WWII that got us out of the Depression. BUT we all contributed then didn't we. We bought bonds and restricted what we bought on a nationalistic argument. When even that sacrifice wasn't enough, the government issued cards restricting what you could buy. Soooooooooo while the great Depression was solved with sacrifice, Krugman believes we can solve this one with a party. A party I tell you - who wouldn't want to climb aboard?
