Steve,
Re -- Cpq warned on this months ago

This is what you get when you use non-standard low quality chips in the presario 2200.

Just because CPQ warned, does not give back the time and effort, that was spent on the problem.

Once again, thats what you get when you sell junk, and CPQ sells a lot of junk.

The shareholders also need to be concerned, because of all the money spent on evaluating and supporting these low quality boxes.
Pfieffer is now touting services, Heck CPQ needs em bad, with the stuff they are selling.

According to Stockman, DELL must be selling JUNK too...you know, since you can't get IE 4.0 to run on a DELL. Wait a minite, DELL only sells Intel processors...according to Stockman, Intel processors must be JUNK. Wow, I never thought I'd hear Stockman allude to that. <G>

Greetings Steve, fellow cpq watchers, investors, and others. I have been reading this thread for several months and finally decided to break down, spend the $125 and participate. First, I am a cpq shareholder. Unfortunately, I bought in the low 70s. However, I take a long-term view and frankly, since I am not in the trading game, I am not that concerned about dips and rises of 10%. One strategy that I have found helpful, to be used in conjunction with a long-term buy and hold strategy is to sell certain calls. Selling out of the money calls can generate cash today which will result in a substantial supplement to any long-term capital gain realized from cpq.

Thanks to all who responded. Unhappily, I missed the announcements from Compaq.

However, I find it strange that their tech help line did not tell me about the patch - only referred me to Microsoft.

I'm glad to hear that there is no similar problem with Netscape.
