My opinion is that it holds great promise, but likely won't be commercially viable for a decade or two or three. Lots of challenges to produce it commercially. But it sure is plentiful and found almost everywhere. It will take some technological breakthrough and/or application of existing tech in new, unthought-of ways to make it a game changer as, say, rotary steerable tools, combined with horizontal drilling and multi-stage frac'ing did to ng... the only new-ish tech there were the downhole tools, the rest was just imaginative use of existing stuff.
