It takes real effort to create those accounts, whereas it's really easy to automate "robo-clicks." What? Every popular Twitter account gets loads of fake followers... but that's not the home account's fault. Those accounts are trying to get other followers of that account to follow them. Pretty much nobody prunes their fake followers. How you can equate not doing that with spending money to fake traffic is beyond me.
