On Morals & Virtue: At the time George Washington @ the height of his popularity & presidency , stepping down from rule to return to his lands & farming was considered the greatest virtue by all then. It was George Washington's sole conscious purpose to emulate the acts of Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, the famed dictator & model of selfless humble civic leadership from early Roman history ,almost all of our great fathers were completely familiar with .

Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus (519 BC – 430 BC)

If these lazy witless dunces had even an ounce of education equal to that of our forefather's, that were so steeped in the classics & free thinkers (with such reverance), but they're only just stupid enough to think it the ramblings in the Bible that the great lessons of history came from. Absolutely not the case.

There wasn't an educated man of the time that did not know of that famed Roman leader Cincinnatus and didnt dream of emulating him. That kind of classic education has been assailed & dilluted by these asses in the last 50yrs with their right wing fundie whining but just look at the quality of men it produced back then?

Also the highest ideals known as "republican" ie: citizen vote, civic & moral responsibility, honor, service , humility, work, simplicity are virtues all ours because of a 2500yr old legacy bequeathed by the Romans, not because of Christianity. Most all of the ideals of virtue for men & women , moral & ethical precepts came from Rome (& Greece as well ), the rest is pure Christian propaganda & absolute nonsense.( No, lets just call it bullshit because thats what the "judeo/christian" myth it is.)

Brumar 'the whiner' cries about feeding a few atheist Christians to the lions, he would do as much everytime i assure you if in the same role because he's more a Roman than he is American, ie: simple minded regimented uneducated superstitious fool. Imagine him back during Martin Luther's protests, what Jew would be safe?

“the real issue is whether atheism can provide a justification for morality”

That has never been an issue. It has never been debatable! Religious and non-religious people throughout history have always created moral structures based on their human Nature and their group customs and social mores.

Of course that is precisely the issue. Moral relativists such as yourself have nothing to complain about and yet that's all you ever do!!!!! Inconsistency is the hallmark of a failed argument. LOL!!!!
