Thanks I was curious.

We need to have a size limit to. It drives me nuts.

The big ones are all female and huge egg laying machines. And they are too old (60+), full of mercury and too tough to eat anyway. When young we caught a 220 pounder and it not really edible. Tough.

I was not sure how far south the big halibut go and have never been able to find out e.g. can they be caught off Washington?

The smaller the halibut the better it tastes.
