People in China have a short term perspective on history. They should think back further in time and claim not just Okinawa, but all of Japan, all of the Polynesian islands, including Taiwan, and New Zealand and of course north and south America which was claimed by the original human inhabitants from China but conquered by Europeans in a huge crime against humanity, using slaves from Africa for economic support in their conquest.

Chiang Kai-shek abandoned mainland China and took over Taiwan, which had been abandoned by Japan when they were defeated. That made Taiwan part of China again. Similarly thousands of years ago the Chinese migration by boat across the Pacific ocean claimed all the uninhabited islands, right across to Easter Island, up to Hawaii and down to New Zealand and the Chatham Islands. China should rightfully rule east Asia and everywhere east of that to the mid Atlantic ocean, including, of course, the Falkland Islands.

Not everyone would agree with that, but it would certainly be a good plan and justification for the world's biggest ever empire. By buying up Africa, they could take over all of that too. Eastern Russia is probably for sale, say from the Urals east, like the Louisiana and Alaska sales which helped enlarge the USA empire.

Or, China could take a more sensible shorter term perspective and stop trying to bully their neighbours. Look what happened to Germany [twice]. Look what happened to Japan during WWII.

I believe the time has come for NZ to look across the other side of the Pacific to the awakening Latin American Giant.

New Zealand has historical links with Europe and North America. Over the last ten years we have come to realise that Asia is on our door step and offers huge opportunities. I believe the time has come for New Zealand to look across the other side of the Pacific to the awakening Latin American Giant.

I suspect the Government is furious about the Greenpeace operation off East Cape when Brazilian oil company PetroBras was sniffing about.

The disruptive protests were not officially blamed but the Brazilians backed off from further exploration.

Mr. Key, NZ Prime Minister can also give some hints to the police forces:

A few ribs broken, during arrest of protesters (you know it is on rough seas and it was dangerous and the protester "fell down".) will send the right message to abide to the law...

Some can be thrown overboard, and to soak their environmental passions...
