Late Tuesday we reported that several lefty bloggers known to be very close to the Obama White House were in fact meeting in the White House. The meeting came a day ahead of hearings in which IRS official Lois Lerner invoked her Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination and refused to testify to the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee. Lerner even refused to testify about her own previous statements on the IRS abuse scandal.

Today, we may be seeing the results of that Tuesday afternoon confab at the White House.

Yes, heads should roll at the IRS It's hard to fire civil servants. But that doesn't mean it can't, or shouldn't, be done. Washington Post @washingtonpost

The synchronicity is striking.

It’s also an indication of just how worried the White House is, and how it intends to contain the scandal. First, get reliably friendly bloggers and columnists on board with a story that focuses attention away from the White House.

Then, isolate and target someone who has already become a central figure in the scandal and, more importantly, who does not work directly for the White House.

Finally, make it appear as if these reliably friendly bloggers actually take the IRS scandal seriously, so they become voices in the larger media advocating for a strong response — just strong enough to look decisive, while keeping the White House outside the main storyline.

Yup. And I believe we should carefully examine the role of a potential Special Prosecutor. I am highly skeptical hearing it first from Democrats! If they want a SP, you can be sure they’ve already decided Who and the whole thing will be a way to “move on” without any real answers.

I have to wonder in light of this journolist bs why the conservative ‘leaders’ that signed Rubio’s Ocho letter don’t also sign one saying no conservative should have any contact with the ‘listers’.

Coincidence ???
Lois just happened to give her opening remarks eliminating her fifth rights.
Issa just happened to not have a copy of her written remarks and needed her to affirm they were in fact from her
WH just happens to meet with journa-list who are now targeting her WH suspects what was coming down
D party was supportive of cleaning up IRS

Folks I think we were watching kaboki theater today in an attempt to get her testimony on record without exposing her testimony. Miss Lois may have indeed pulled the trigger before she was in their cross pins

Coincidence ??? Occam's razor. The simplest and direct answer.. She is on the dole for the Obama mob and wanted to have an 'in your face moment'.

Why didn't you know that if you live in LA? LOL! What makes you think I didn't know it? You didn't specify that it had to be the area west of Gower. You just said "Melrose". But for the record, I knew what you were talking about. When we go to lunch down there, where do you think we go? (well, ok, we go to Roscoe's on Gower at Sunset a lot, but......) My Mother grew up on Larchmont. I spent 30 years of holidays in that neighborhood. However, all of that is meaningless. You are saying that one can find 11 and 12 year old kids with tats and body piercings on Melrose. Everyone here knows that you are making this up. If they are on Melrose, they would also be on Hollywood Blvd and Ventura Blvd and Sepulveda Blvd and in Westwood and Century City and Manhattan beach and Encino.......and they are not. Might you be able to find one 11 year old who has a body piercing...sure. But that doesn't suggest a trend nor does it suggest the dominant culture in Los Angeles. Where there certainly are communities on the fringe where kids grow up too fast, the vast majority of people in los angeles are normal boring middle class families. And this would describe any community in the country.
