Having lived in Sydney for 4 years and worked as a trader at Citibank..... I am personally aware of undervalued assets that show up at different opportunistic times.

I concur with your assessment that their will be many companies that will be able to purchased at significantly lower prices for those who keep some "powder dry" and have cash on hand when assets go on sale.

PS my Brother married his Australian Sweetheart.... Suzanne McCabe Pitera, the girl who literally lived across the street... they lived in Sydney for a decade and then came to the US...... It was back to the US for my brother and his wife's fist foray into living overseas....

It's very hard to leave your family behind on the other end of the earth.... with a 10 to 11 hour time zone shift.... It makes it almost impossible to have a normal call.... it's 8 AM and you are just getting going in the US and it's 10 PM and people are relaxing and undwinding in Sydney..... or reverse it and you call at night and you are either waking someone up or they are racing to get off to work and their busy days...

and thus she moved back to Australia and they got divorced.
