Seems the entire project underfunded up to 60% plus many parts of the line won't be the high speeds originally predicted. So two hrs from LA to SF will no be happening anytime soon if reports are correct. Now Wikipedia shows 164 mph LA to SF direct. That would be fantastic if they can still pull it off..

But that is a minor point. The great demand and need is within the metro areas and streetcars fit on many levels to also spur economic activity.
