Findyourspot.com Ukiah, CA

Although the cost of living is lower than in much of California, it is still higher than average in Ukiah, falling between 15-25% above the national average.

Incredible that home prices there are so high compared to incomes and rents. Many Florida towns with similar income and rents have median home prices well under $100k

Ukiah is in Mendocino County, a hundred miles north of SFO. It has a beautiful coastline, incredible redwood forests and while its not Napa, lots of vineyards. Many of those expensive homes are owned by people who derive their income from other places.

You want less expensive housing in CA you go inland. The more inland you go and away from the mts the cheaper the housing.
