If you were ASND's owner, and the earnings were that visible (30%/year), you shouldn't put your company for sale in the first place. I think the jump is because Ashby reiterated being comfortable with 1.05 and 1.45 estimates. Last time he said sort of imformally so people didn't pay a lot of attention, now it's in DMG and he said it again. Let's hear him again in Jan.'s conf. call.

<<Using a share swap, ASND should see nothing less than $45/
share.>>

Great post. Most people on this thread can't understand
why $40 is still a ridiculously low price. Acquiring companies
don't look at today's price or current year earnings alone - these
are actually minor considerations - you have to project future
earnings as well. Companies think STRATEGICALLY.

Strategic planning is usually a 10 year horizon. Carry your
calculations out another 5 years:

'02 $4.7 bil $ 750 mil $3.96/ share
'03 $6.1 bil $ 975 mil $5.15/ share
'04 $7.9 bil $1.25 Bil $6.70/ share
'05 $10.3 bil $1.65 Bil $8.70/ share
'06 $13.4 bil $2.10 Bil $11.3/ share

Now think of what ASND's future sales COULD BE with the addition of
LU's (or NT's) customers, contacts, sales and marketing staff. Think of
what ASND adds to LU in their battle with their competitors.

$40 or anything close is an absolute steal.
