Gary,

I have alot of respect for you but I will have to disagree if this proves to be false (which I believe it will) asnd will drop very hard and fast and nothing will stop it. Just try to imagne all those millions of shares that were bought for one reason only (buyout rumor) and if and when this falls through those millions of shares will be dumped.

Garry, you said
..An acquisition. Less likely than #1 above, but still a possibility (and my bet remains on CPQ)..

I agree. An acquisition is less likely, but maybe CPQ was weak (compared to the res of the boxmakers) yesterday because more people thought pfeiffer might buy ASND

Gary and ALL, At this time, Ascend certainly has the retail
investors' attention again -- IE if they watch CNBC, Nightly
Business Report, etc.

Now would be an ideal time for ASND to launch a mini-advertizing
blitz, capitalizing on the AT&T deal, etc.

It's about time Mr & MS Sixpack were made aware of the number
of "Ascend Inside" products that allow them to access the
internet, and reach out across the Internet Cloud via Ascend's
ATM Backbone products.

I'll now pick up my soap box, and call it a night.
